3 Easy Ways to Select Your Research and Thesis Title

Selecting what your thesis title is not as hard as it seems. This is the start of any thesis and I'm willing to bet that your thesis adviser has instructed you to make a list of at least ten. Right? Right.
However, what I'm also guessing is that your instructor did NOT tell you how to logically come up with your thesis title. This kind of situation is a common scenario on almost all of my clients.

But worry not, I'm here to share you a few secrets to guide you on proper title selection. Yes, this applies no matter your course. Below is a short list of paths that will help you make that list.


  1. Current innovations and trends in your field. There are always innovations in your field. That is the dynamics of the current world we live in. There is always something new. And it is something that you can make a study of. If you are feeling confident, opt in for a title that looks into the technicalities of a certain issue. Or at the very least, arrive at a sociological title to identify and assess the opinion of the people about it.
  2. Current issues and problems in your field. As much as there are innovations there are issues. The people will always have a diversified perspective on everything. That brings you an opportunity on making a research. You can choose to make a title to assess the issues along with its theoretical concepts. Or again at the very least, arrive at a sociological title to study the opinion of people about it.
  3. Update a previous study. This path is something that I'm personally not fond of, but when all else fails, this is something that always comes in handy. I'm quite sure that there are a lot of studies in your university library already which are still relevant today. Select one which is outdated, that is to say, the thesis was written more than 6 years ago, and make a study that would update that specific study.
